Sustainability

Our commitment to environmental sustainability:

We are driven by the belief that our choices can contribute to a better world. Our curated collection is made from sustainable materials such as willow, bamboo, seagrass, and jute, each thoughtfully selected for their minimal environmental impact and their ability to provide a natural and elegant final tribute.

Seagrass: Sourced from the freshwater plant abundantly grown in the Noakhali district of Bangladesh, our seagrass caskets are sun-dried, spun, and woven onto a bamboo frame, offering a gentle and natural feel.

Willow: Hand-woven onto bamboo frames, our willow coffins come in a traditional oval shape and are available in both chestnut and natural white. Each piece is designed with care and craftsmanship, reflecting a timeless elegance.

Bamboo: Our bamboo products are made from locally grown, sustainably managed bamboo plants in Bangladesh. Our suppliers work closely with 40 local producers, ensuring fair prices and fostering positive relationships within the community.

Jute: This unique material is sourced from local farms in Bangladesh. After harvesting during the monsoon season, the jute fibers are carefully processed and woven into a beautiful fabric, making Jibana a pioneer in incorporating jute into casket manufacturing.

Jibana partner with suppliers who are deeply committed to our shared values of environmental stewardship and Fair Trade principles. Each supplier is selected based on strong, ethical relationships and their dedication to sustainable practices. They prioritize minimising water and energy use, employ natural dyes from plant extracts, and utilise innovative design techniques for efficient sea transport packing.

Additionally, our suppliers are rigorously audited to ensure that they uphold the highest environmental standards and best practices.
